Memorial Day Weekend Shopping

By Maria Fleita

I hope that everyone had a great Memorial Weekend. I myself took advantage of some of the great make-up sales that were going on. Drug stores had great  deals on cosmetics. Crown Brushes had 15% off. Eve Pearl had 40-55% off. Coastal Scents had 20% off, to name a few. It makes the decision on what you really want to buy hard.

I took the cheaper alternative this time around and went drugstore shopping! As you can see from my receipt I did some shopping and stocking up at CVS! Revlon had a 75% OFF sale (How can you say no to that!). Physicians Formula and Milani had buy one get one 50% off.

If you love M.A.C’s Mineral Finish powder in Candlelight you will love Revlon’s Skin Finish in Brighten  for a fraction of the price. This powder you can use as a highlighter or all over your face for that shimmer glow . I also picked up some other shades for a bronzy look and added it to my kit as well.

My MAC Candlelight took a fall before so I fixed it by pressing it. As you see to the picture on your right I did a swatch. Brighten has a little more of a pink undertone while Candlelight has more of a peachy-pink undertone.

I noticed Physicians Formula Custom  Eye Enhancing Eyeliner Trio. What makes these a good buy is that you get  3 different colors in one packaging. So I went ahead and picked up one for brown eyes. The colors in the package are, black with a hint of a purple and very little shimmer, purple and espresso. What caught my attention is they claim that these liners last up to 24 hours. So I had to try it out for myself. So far its working well for me. Its not running nor giving me a raccoon eye. So I will update you in a few days to let you know my final thoughts on it.

I also picked up from Physicians Formula their Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Powder in translucent. Its a beautiful blend of different shades to give your face a nice evened finish. If you want a nice glow but without too much of the shimmer that you get normally with some finishing powders. This would be a great pick.  It also has a nice compartment with a mirror and its own brush.

Degree had a great deal. 2 for $7. You get two different deodorants Pure Clean & Fresh Energy with motionSENCE.

Last but not least I went to Ulta and bought Bare Essentials concealer in Summer Bisque. This is wonderful color for light to medium skin tones. What I love about this product is that you can use it to set your concealer and really even out the under eye area. You can use it alone as a concealer  but, if you have fine lines make sure your skin is prepped with a primer or moisturizer. If not it will slightly go into the fine lines.
I hope you found my shopping adventure helpful. Hopefully you have or will try some these products. If you have already I would love to hear about it and what your thoughts are as well.
