Rimmel London BB Cream 9-IN-1

By Maria Fleita

Rimmel London BB Cream 9-IN-1

I heard buzz that Rimmel London was coming out with a new and improved BB Cream so I was very curious to try it out. I’ve tried a few other BB Creams before and I can say they fell short of delivering what they promised. So when I was at a local Walgreens about two weeks ago I saw the display and decided to pick one up. The fact they had a coupon for a dollar off was another added bonus. It comes in three shades; light, medium and medium dark. It’s pretty diverse in the selection of shades options. It would be great if they’d add dark/deep for darker skin tones.

I picked up the shade in light since I’m pretty fair. I’m normally a NC20 in MAC so that you can have an idea. This shade works was a perfect match for my skin tone. According to Rimmel London these are the 9 in results they promise: Primes, Moisturizes, Minimises Pores, Conceals, Covers, Smooths, Mattifies, Brightens and helps protect. I’ll tell you in a few if it actually delivers all that.

So here is a picture of me early morning after washing my face and applying some moisturizer to my skin. As you can see I do have a few pimples since I’m breaking out. I do have two pretty big noticeable sun spots on my face and a few smaller ones. I have some redness since I have normal to sensitive skin and I do get blotchy from time to time. Especially around the nose area due to my wonderful allergies.

Here you can see what a great job it did covering up my redness and evening out my skin. I didn’t use a concealer under the eye or around other areas since I just used a little more of the BB Cream to hide the minor imperfections.

Here are my thoughts on the product overall, from what they claim that it does to what I saw it did for my skin.

* Primes: I believe it does a nice job of priming your skin so that it goes on smoothly.

*Moisturizes: That I’d have to say is a bit false and here’s why. I have combination skin that can be a bit on the dry side all around or oily on the T-zone. If I don’t moisturize my skin prior to application, you will see all of the dry patches around my face. So if you have dry to combination skin I’d say apply a thin layer of moisturizer prior to application. If you have oily skin you can skip using any type of moisturizer since you won’t need it if you do use a moisturizer make sure it’s an oil-free one.

*Minimises Pores: I didn’t see a big difference in my pores with the product to be honest. It was so slight that you can’t really tell the difference. Then again I don’t have big pores but super small ones would be GREAT! hahaha

*Conceals: It did do a great job of concealing my under eyes, pimples and red blotches on my face.

*Covers: I am impressed on the coverage of this BB Cream because it does it’s job.

*Smooths: You do get a nice smooth finish

*Mattifies: I can’t say that it’s gives you a matte finish since it doesn’t. The picture above was after I applied the BB Cream and I still hadn’t added a powder over it. So for a matte finish I’d say use a matte powder if that’s the look you’re going for.

*Brightens: It doesn’t give your skin a nice satin type finish. If you want a bit more of a dewy finish I’d suggest for you to grab your favorite highlighter.

*Helps Protect: They have their product labeled as Broad Spectrum  SPF 25 which in fact it is and I’m very happy to see that. I’m very big on skin care now then what I was back in my teen years.

I’ve been using the product for a week and half now and I’m very pleased with it and I’ll continue to use it on my days that I want to wear a lighter foundation on my face.

Have you tried it or considering trying it after reading my review on it? I’d love to hear your feed back and opinions. Please comment below.

Maybelline Color Elixir by Color Sensational

By Maria Fleita

I’ve heard for some time buzz about these glosses but honestly I didn’t really jump when I first heard about them. I figured when and if I saw them then I’d purchase them to see what the buzz is all about. When I was at Walmart a few weeks ago and stumbling upon the display for L’Oréal Voluminous Butterfly Mascara, right next to it was the display for Maybelline’s Color Elixir’s. This is what Maybelline’s website says about these elixirs:

L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Butterfly Mascara

By Maria Fleita

A few days ago I was at Walmart shopping and I come across this big display for L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Butterfly Mascara. Of course I automatically forget what I was suppose to buy and gravitate to the big display that is in front of me. (There was another item next to me that’s coming in my next review) There is no way that you can miss this display even if you have 20/60 vision. Marketing wise this was brilliant! (more…)

The Makeup Bullet

By Maria Fleita

I’m sure by now you have all heard and/or tried a Beauty Blender or a generic brand of it. While I was at the Orlando Makeup Show three weeks ago I happened to stumble upon this makeup applicator that caught my eye. The Makeup Bullet that was created by makeup artist, Eva Jane. I had the pleasure of speaking with Eve Jane at the Orlando Show about her product, she is truly a wonderful and down to earth person. She was kind enough to give me a sample of her product so that I may try it out and give her my honest opinion. (more…)

Ofra Semi-Permanent Waterproof Eyebrow Gel

By Maria Fleita

Last week I attended The Makeup Show in Orlando, FL and came across Ofra Cosmetics. To be quite honest I’ve never used any of their products before but on product stuck out and I just had to try it out for myself. Ofra has semi-permanent waterproof eyebrow gel which come in five colors; auburn, charcoal, dark brown, light brown and khaki. If you were at the show and were able to buy all five colors at $25 you got yourself an amazing deal considering that each color sells for $24.95 each.

Dove Dry Shampoo

By Maria Fleita

I am a big fan of dry shampoos for many reasons. I love to use them between hair washes since I do have oily roots and dry ends. To give you an example; I can wash my hair and since I play with it so much that by the end of the day or the next day my roots are oily. I find using dry shampoo ideal since its not good to wash your hair everyday since it strips your good hair oils. (more…)

SOHO Beauty Sponge

By Maria Fleita

I walked into a Walmart over the holidays and saw this big stand that said SOHO. They had a big selection of brushes, makeup cases, brush holders and other goodies. I looked at them thought it looked good but I didn’t bother. I was in rush and kept going. I later saw it again at Walgreens but they had a smaller selection. I stopped and looked and what caught my eye was the Beauty Sponge. The first thing that came to mind was “This can be a dup for the Beautyblender!!!” For $7.99 its well worth the try so I bought it.
