I heard buzz that Rimmel London was coming out with a new and improved BB Cream so I was very curious to try it out. I’ve tried a few other BB Creams before and I can say they fell short of delivering what they promised. So when I was at a local Walgreens about two weeks ago I saw the display and decided to pick one up. The fact they had a coupon for a dollar off was another added bonus. It comes in three shades; light, medium and medium dark. It’s pretty diverse in the selection of shades options. It would be great if they’d add dark/deep for darker skin tones.
I picked up the shade in light since I’m pretty fair. I’m normally a NC20 in MAC so that you can have an idea. This shade works was a perfect match for my skin tone. According to Rimmel London these are the 9 in results they promise: Primes, Moisturizes, Minimises Pores, Conceals, Covers, Smooths, Mattifies, Brightens and helps protect. I’ll tell you in a few if it actually delivers all that.
So here is a picture of me early morning after washing my face and applying some moisturizer to my skin. As you can see I do have a few pimples since I’m breaking out. I do have two pretty big noticeable sun spots on my face and a few smaller ones. I have some redness since I have normal to sensitive skin and I do get blotchy from time to time. Especially around the nose area due to my wonderful allergies.
Here you can see what a great job it did covering up my redness and evening out my skin. I didn’t use a concealer under the eye or around other areas since I just used a little more of the BB Cream to hide the minor imperfections.
Here is a frontal view of my whole face before and after applying the BB Cream.
Here is my finished look with all of my makeup on.
Here are my thoughts on the product overall, from what they claim that it does to what I saw it did for my skin.
* Primes: I believe it does a nice job of priming your skin so that it goes on smoothly.
*Moisturizes: That I’d have to say is a bit false and here’s why. I have combination skin that can be a bit on the dry side all around or oily on the T-zone. If I don’t moisturize my skin prior to application, you will see all of the dry patches around my face. So if you have dry to combination skin I’d say apply a thin layer of moisturizer prior to application. If you have oily skin you can skip using any type of moisturizer since you won’t need it if you do use a moisturizer make sure it’s an oil-free one.
*Minimises Pores: I didn’t see a big difference in my pores with the product to be honest. It was so slight that you can’t really tell the difference. Then again I don’t have big pores but super small ones would be GREAT! hahaha
*Conceals: It did do a great job of concealing my under eyes, pimples and red blotches on my face.
*Covers: I am impressed on the coverage of this BB Cream because it does it’s job.
*Smooths: You do get a nice smooth finish
*Mattifies: I can’t say that it’s gives you a matte finish since it doesn’t. The picture above was after I applied the BB Cream and I still hadn’t added a powder over it. So for a matte finish I’d say use a matte powder if that’s the look you’re going for.
*Brightens: It doesn’t give your skin a nice satin type finish. If you want a bit more of a dewy finish I’d suggest for you to grab your favorite highlighter.
*Helps Protect: They have their product labeled as Broad Spectrum SPF 25 which in fact it is and I’m very happy to see that. I’m very big on skin care now then what I was back in my teen years.

I’ve been using the product for a week and half now and I’m very pleased with it and I’ll continue to use it on my days that I want to wear a lighter foundation on my face.
